![]() ![]() Havana, explain that this my honorable activity, growing up in more than 5 years of passion and hard work, with more than one hundred positive feedback in Tripadvisor and thousand of happy and satisfied guests, has not a size of an Hotel. As I answered before to another review based on my activity size received at the beginning of August, it is enough take a look to the Hostal Havana photos and to be able to read, that the name of the activity, H.O.S.T.A.L. I hardly ever do reviews, but I logged on to do this one - because I really loved staying at Stefano and Isbel's place!…ĭear Mandy, thanks so much for your comments,I don't really remember you as guest (no photo in your Tripadvisor profile) but your review is very detailed. it was a terrific evening with new friends and family, one I will long remember. I learned tons and she charged a fraction of other cooking lessons out there. AND when I requested a cooking lesson, Isbel took me to the market to shop with her and then let me help make Stefano's birthday dinner. They had ideas whenever I had questions (where to eat, where to buy cigars, how to catch the bus, etc.) We had wonderful conversations. They set me up on a bike tour that was a perfect introduction to Havana. Stefano and Isbel made me a big, delicious breakfast each day for only 5 CUC - lots of fruit and coffee and an egg sandwich. Plus, the balcony off the common area is the perfect place to sit and watch the city. In the apartment, I had a key to my private room and had a private bathroom. I was traveling alone and felt very safe, including at night. I loved the neighborhood because it's really close to everything, but it's residential enough that you get to experience a real neighborhood. They also arranged cabs to and from the airport for me at good prices. Stefano and Isbel speak great English (and Spanish and Italian). Stefano was quick to respond and they were home to greet me when I arrived. to the Malecon (two minutes), to old Havana (three minutes), to Vedado. The room was clean and comfortable (with air conditioning), and the apartment was in an amazing location. I truly can't imagine a more wonderful place to stay! Stefano and Isbel were the best hosts ever - they welcomed me into their home and made me feel like family. On the positive side, the location is wonderful, and breakfast was okay, but probably not what Isabella would make. We felt like we were imposing, that he was not particularly helpful but would rather be watching TV. Stephano was nice enough, but it took 3 times asking for him to give us some toilet paper, and we had to ask twice for a blanket. To make matters worse, Isabella was not there, but has been away for some time. ![]() There was another, much nicer rental room with 2 beds, which I assumed was rented, until I realized that Stephano was going to sleep in it himself, rather than giving us the nicer room. It also smelled strongly of chemicals, likely bug spray. Our room was small, poorly equipped (one useless lamp, tiny side table), and had a double bed and a small bunk bed, which my 80 year old friend had to use because I am very tall (and also not young). First, we requested 2 beds, for two adults. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. My friend and I checked into Hostal Havana expecting a wonderful stay, based on the wonderful reviews. *On demand, we can put one single bed into the room (the rooms are big!) Daily clean service included in the room's priceĪll rooms are equipped with: air conditioned system, private bathroom with shower and hot water, and double bed* Staff always present with recepion open 7 days / 24 hours We will offer you a very comfortable, private and safety stay. The apartment has a dining room, telephone and a breezy terrace with a marvellous view. Hostal Havana offers rooms equipped with air conditioned system, private bathroom with shower and hot water. Hostal Havana is situated in a strategic point, in a tourist area, just 50 meters from the Avenida del Prado, 100 meters from the Malecon Habanero, 800 meters from Central Park and the Capitol, 300 meters from Old Town and 500 meters from the Cathedral of Havana. It is located in calle Consulado 14 on the 2nd floor. Hostal Havana opened its door in the 2014 spring.
